Party Unity (apologies to Rogers and Hammerstein)

I'm worried that some folks may be losing sight of the fact that we all are going to have to work together to win in November.  Neither candidate will be able to win without the support of his/her opponents' followers.  Since it looks like the nominee may not be decided until August, we won't have much time for reconciliation, so I'd like to get started now.

In that spirit, I'd like to offer this anthem to party unity.

Obamites and the Clintons should be friends,
Oh, Obamites and the Clintons should be friends.
Obama inpires like JFK, Hillary wants to lead the way,
But that's no reason why they can't be friends.

Democratic folks should stick together,
Democratic folks should all be pals.
Clintonites'll work with Obama's followers,
Obama'll dance with the famous gal.

I'd like to say a word for Obama,
(Well, say it!)
He's gotten a lot of people to believe
(That's right!)
He can lead us to a better future for us
(Too bad so many of you are naive!)

Hillary is a honorable public servant,
No matter what Obama says or thinks
You seldom see her taking personal benefits
(Unless it's a friendly lobbyist buying drinks!)

Obama fires up the base, Hillary knows how to close the race
But that's no reason why they can't be friends.

She's never one to shrink from a tough fight
To get the hard work done
She'll be ready on day one
(She may be ready, but is she really right?)

Obama is a candidate for the future
If you long for change he's the perfect man
Just listen to him speak
You'll be behind him in a week
(He's got the speech but does he have a plan?)
